Monday @ 7pm - Simply Pool Souls [0-1] vs Latino Pool Legends [1-0]
Last week: SPS lost 0-5 to EPC / LPL won 5-4 vs MIB
Coming off a thumping to start their season, the season doesn't get much easier for TJ & company, while some "predictors" write nothing for this game, I will because I'm what you call a real predictor. SPS started the season missing what many can believe is their top player, daquiet.storm. He hasn't played a game of pool for quite some time, but if he comes back SPS will be able to start competing. While last week, most of the matches were expected to be blow-outs, and they were, leaving the final match up, the only exciting one and boy did it not disappoint. With MIB up and ready to put a strangle hold on LPL [only leaving the rookie Ant to try and carry against 3 more MIB players], MIB let the strangle hold slip away and let LPL come back and from there Gus & Ant were too much, winning 2 and 3 games respectively. Ant says he has even more players yet to sign up, will we see them in an easy match like this or will he wait for another big team to break out his brand new, shiny big guns?
Prediction - 5-0 LPL
Tuesday @ 6pm - Break n Run [1-0] vs Freedom [0-1]
Last week: BnR won 5-0 vs TC / Welcome to PRO!
Dina & company came off a big win over TC blanking them, but lost 3 players the same night. We can all speculate what really happened, and while those who know a few details may bring bias, but either way, this match should be tense. Those 3 players that left never played for BnR that night, and two had switched to other teams the following day, then switching to Freedom when they were introduced later in the week. Should Dina worry? The introduction of Jason [PL HA], Kalpz & Matt to her roster will be key, making sure they show up every week will be another issue. The 3 of them barely got into eligible status before the match and by the looks of things will need to show early tomorrow to become eligible. With Josh & Jerm on the roster as well, Dina has a roster that will make some noise and will definitely make the pre-season prediction look foolish, should she add some more depth. Welcome to PRO Freedom! Half your team is from MP, the other half from BnR, with a little bit of Ash mixed in. Ash has already given everyone his 2 cents on Freedoms chances in PRO, will he deliver? Ash will have to live up to his own hype should Freedom go deep this season, and with players like Dwayne, Eba, Tim & Hope on the rise as players, Freedom will need to lean on their progress as they have the makings of play off team.
Prediction - 5-3 BnR
Tuesday @ 7pm - Pool Fiction [0-1] vs True Champs [0-1]
Last week: PFN lost 0-5 to X8B / TC lost 0-5 to BnR
Two teams that got completely blanked, and it wouldn't be a shock if one of them blanked the other this week. What to say about PFN, Mike [ufc.cage] led the team in the first week, playing a sub-par team at best and after the crushing, left. Is it because PFN will be sub par? Or was he just a bad captain? Judging by the way he reacted after the match, I'd say the latter. With Sean back at the helm, PRO should mirror their current season in UIC with a slow start, but one hell of a finish. Looking at who's been playing the PRO tournaments for PFN, it'll take one hell of a squad for Mario to combat Sean this week. TC don't have a deep roster, and their current roster isn't exactly play-off worthy, hopefully they'll be able to swallow this week and move on to week 3.
Prediction - 5-1 PFN
Wednesday @ 7pm - Money in the Bank [0-1] vs Extreme Pool Competitors [1-0]
Last week: MIB lost 4-5 to LPL / EPC won 5-0 vs SPS
Coming off a tough loss to the Anthony Pool Legends, MIB cant afford any more slip ups if they look to catch LPL for the season title [yes I know its week one, but c'mon.. c'monn!]. With so many top players already having played for MIB, and a few more waiting to break out on the scene, Pommy will need to bring his best as Jack can match up here and a few of Jacks could burn MIB's players. Jack will need players like Timm, SailDude & Chris to show for this match if he looks to have any shot at toppling MIB. This week will be big for both teams, can MIB bounce back and take care of what could be a great EPC squad, and can Jack may his squad as good as it should be?
Prediction - 5-3 MIB
Thursday @ 7pm - Magic Pool [1-0] vs Xtreme 8Ball [1-0]
Last week: MP won 5-2 vs EP / X8B won 5-0 vs PFN
By the sounds of how MP won, they wont have a chance in this match, with two [2!] tape DQ's in the first 5 games, MP would've been down 4-1 if my grade 4 math serves me correctly. Not cool. It must've been an off-week as the MP players have bounced back nicely around the lovely yahoo pool world, most notably in the Sunday tournament with both Croz & Jordy making the finals, among many strong performances by MP players. Trey will need his top players at this match, and they will need to be on their game if they look to get past a strong X8B squad. Their win over PFN is impressive, but has an asterisk of course. X8B didn't play PFN's "A" squad at all, and got away with an easy win in what should've been a tough match. James has the players to go all the way this season, and will need to take care of teams that could easily upset them on any day, this match should be a lot closer then LPL vs MIB a week prior. This time slot sure does produce winners..
Prediction - 5-4 MP
